Lesley Franklin's talk on Diabetes at Wixams Retirement Village, Bedford

Our committee member Lesley (Diabetes Specialist Nurse, retired) recently gave a diabetes talk at a Bedfordshire retirement village.

The Wellbeing Advisor Nurse there gave this feedback to  Diabetes UK, Midlands and East Region:

I would just like to say how grateful we were to have Lesley Franklin visit us at Wixams Retirement Village to give residents a talk about Diabetes.

Around 30 residents attended, all of whom were engaged from the start, we found Lesley to be professional, knowledgeable and engaging.

It turned into a really informative Q&A session that Lesley facilitated beautifully, and sharing her wealth of professional and personal experience just added to her credibility!

The written literature Lesley brought along proved very popular, and is something I believe I can access online in the future?

Without fail their feedback afterwards has all been really positive.

I hope that as an organisation, giving this type of community talk is as valuable to you as it was for us.

Many thanks for facilitating this.

Committee members are available to give diabetes awareness-raising and information sessions to organisations and groups where requested
