Free course - Diabetes Care and Management

Milton Keynes College is offering a CACHE Level 2 Certificate Course entitled Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes which may be of interest to members of the Milton Keynes Diabetes UK Group. This is a free course to study and is available via distance learning, so applicants do not need to be resident within Milton Keynes, as it can be studied at any location within England.
The course provides an understanding of the different forms and causes of diabetes, as well as the risk factors for developing Type 2 diabetes and how it can be prevented or delayed. It provides learners with an understanding of the social impact of diabetes and how a diagnosis of diabetes can affect different people in different ways. The course also looks at the different treatment options for diabetes and how it can be managed, together with the longer-term complications that can occur as a result of diabetes.
This qualification is suitable for individuals who may be at risk of developing diabetes, as well as those who have been diagnosed and wish to understand the condition better. It would also be of interest to those working in health and social care, personal carers, and family members who provide support to those with diabetes.

- Prevention and early intervention of Type 2 diabetes
- Understand the initial care of diabetes
- Understand the treatment and management of diabetes
